Brest (29): a college attacked over the weekend, stoned by a group of youths. “Around ten windows damaged”
This Saturday, April 26, 2025, the Penn-ar-C'hleuz middle school was the target of a stone-throwing attack. According to the departmental council, whose services were immediately notified that same afternoon by the school principal, "a group of youths" allegedly targeted the windows on the facade. Around ten windows were damaged, and the school was quickly secured by the on-call technician on Saturday afternoon.
According to our information, no internal incident at the school could explain this attack. A similar attack had already occurred during this school year, but with minor damage. This time, while the windows did not explode, the extent of the damage requires them to be replaced. A police investigation has been opened. (…)
(…) A bill covered by the community: "The Department will soon vote on exceptional support so that the school's budget is not impacted by the cost of repairs," said Véronique Bourbigot, Vice-President of the Department responsible for children and youth. Deploring the "unacceptable" nature of such an event, she also praised "the responsiveness of the Department's services, which made it possible to welcome the students safely from Monday morning."
